Reshaping learning. Innovating together.
Who are we
Spotin (Spotlight on Innovation) is a Greek non-profit organisation founded in 2021 at the intersection of education, technology and society.
We organise the Panhellenic School Map Competition, focusing on digital map-making and geo-storytelling. We deliver training programmes for educators, students and professionals in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), digital maps and spatial thinking. We develop open-access educational resources and implement EU-funded projects in collaboration with universities, research institutions and organisations across Europe.
We design experiences that are interdisciplinary, project-based and rooted in real social challenges — building a growing community of curious, creative and civically engaged learners.
All our work is grounded in a simple belief: maps make knowledge tangible. What begins as a feeling, an observation or a question becomes visible, shareable and meaningful the moment it appears on a map. Technology is just the means — what matters are the stories of people and places. Because every map comes with a story, and every story is worth telling.
Geo-storytelling is the language we teach.
Our Vision and Mission
A world where learning is not confined to the classroom.
To advance learning innovation through geotechnologies, digital maps and geo-storytelling.
We create interdisciplinary, experiential learning programmes that develop 21st-century skills, connect education to real-world challenges, and inspire a new generation of active, spatially literate citizens.

Practice Areas
Environment
We raise environmental awareness through mapping, data analysis and field-based learning. Our projects help students and communities map and understand the environmental challenges shaping their local landscapes.
STE(A)M Education
We implement interdisciplinary learning activities that connect science, geography, arts and technology through geospatial tools, digital storytelling and project-based learning — making spatial thinking current, creative and engaging.
Cultural Heritage
We use digital maps and geo-storytelling to explore, document and promote intangible cultural heritage, helping communities share what makes their place unique.
Society & Citizenship
We design learning experiences around real social challenges, cultivating more informed, spatially literate and active citizens.
Open Innovation
We collaborate with universities, research institutions and organisations across Greece and Europe on EU-funded projects and geo-applications that promote the value of spatial knowledge in education and society.
