The 2nd Panhellenic School Map Competition invites students to explore a question with a strong social dimension: “Can my classmate in a wheelchair get to school?”
Through the theme “Mapping Accessibility”, students are encouraged to investigate the accessibility of their school and local surroundings, identify barriers and explore ways to make their communities more inclusive.
Working together with their teachers, students will explore real routes and collect information from their local environment, using digital mapping tools to document their findings.
The Competition combines technology, field research and experiential learning, helping students develop digital and spatial skills while encouraging empathy, collaboration and active citizenship.
The initiative demonstrates how maps can become powerful tools not only for understanding places, but also for identifying social challenges and imagining more inclusive communities.
